MMB2014 Tutorial #3

Halo~~ this week we learn something new as usual, and after the video learning process, we are require to make some changes on two prepared photo, choose either one of it. For this week, i am going to edit the bookcover picture.
Here we go!!~~

First of all, i am going to create two new layer. It is a normal layer as well as duplicate the background layer. I am going to perform the cut and paste skill on the background copy layer aka the duplicated layer. I use the Polygonal Lasso Tool to cut off the bricks on the top of the hand which hold the USD as i want to paste it above of the book title which is under the hands. After circulate the area the i wish to use, i cut it out and paste it onto the layer the i created earlier. And the background copy layer now is a bit "cacat" due to i cutted a piece of its background. =p

After that, i only choose to visualize the new layer and the original background layer as i am now on my way to cover up the textbook title. After settle with a suitable place, I use the Magic Eraser Tool to erase those area that will reduce the real effect on the part that i modify. I erase the boundary in bewteen the covered picture and the original picture.

Talang~~ See, am i doing a great job? haha....

In order to create a new title for the picture, i use the Horizontal Type Tool to write down the title that i want to use. In this photo, i wish to transform it into a cover that teaching the people not to using shortcut in whatever means. Under table money stand for the money that being paid to others in a illegal way in order to achieve something.

Then, i go to channels and create a new layer which is alpha 1, by applying what we learn from the video, I choose the Line Tool, with Fill pixel and the weight i change it to 2 and 6 respectively in order to make different effect on the picture.

Then, I go to Filter menu, choose Pixelate and choose Mezzotint, i try to apply some effect on the wording so that i looks more real. I choose the short strokes, and the effect is now on my picture. After that, i create another new wording this time is under the hands which is above the new layer that i created just now. The wording i used was "Take it and you're dead" meaning if you take any fraud money from others, there is only one penalty to you which is a visit to "HELL". (*I am pointing to The Republic of China as i putted P/S: after the senteces which is "death penalty is the only "reward" for corruption in China")

See~ it is now like real right? =)

After that, by applying the same technique as what i used just now for the upper wording, now i use it again for the lower wording.

Here we go~!! Do you manage to observe the effect on the lower wording??

The world of corruption is grey or on the other means, it is without light because those people who involve in the corruption will be living in the darkness even though they life with wealthy but in deep of their heart, they actually scared and worried. Thus, I apply the technique that i learn since the first tutorial, click Ctrl+R in order to use the Ruler Bar, drag two line from the Ruler as to separate the picture into two half, one represent the good side and one represent the bad side. I use to Brush Tool, select Colour which is below the layer bar on our right and greyscale the left half of the picture. After that, go to menu bar, choose View and Clear Guide to get rid of the guide which i dragged it out just now.

In order to suit my theme, I go to surf the internet to find a piece of Ren Min Bi, the currency of China, and create another new layer, bring the Ren Min Bi into this layer, resize it and replace it by put it above of the USD. After that, use the Brush Tool again in order to colour half of the Ren Min BI as to suit the picture in overall.

1,2,3.......lets C~~~ (n.n)v

And finally, my work for this week is done!!! hehe...go to resize the picture by click Alt+Ctrl+I key, change the resolution to 72, the width to 500 and click okay!!~ Then, go to menu bar again, choose file, choose save as. Re-name the picture as my student ID number, 1061111139 and choose the file type as JPEG. After that change the image option's quality to 6, and click the progressive button for 3 scans. After that click okay!~

And below is my product of a few hours hard work~~ =p

Thank you for spending your time to view it, may you have a nice day and all the best for life. Cheers~~~!!

regards;

Jiun
